I was born in Brighton and now I’m doing my A’levels at BHASVIC. Before that went to St Pauls Primary and Cardinal Newman.
I started windsurfing on a family holiday in Greece at the age of 10 and my first competition, 2 years later, was in Freestyle.
Following some intensive coaching from Sam Ross with a great bunch of young windsurfers, I cracked my fist forward loops and honed my wave sailing. This gave me the confidence to enter the Cornwall Wave Classic in 2014 and I've loved wavesailing ever since.
Lucas Meldrum, 18 years old, born & bred in Brighton, UK Junior Wave Champion 2016, UK Amateur Wave Champion 2017, now ranked 9th and the youngest athlete in the UK Pro-fleet.
He has now set his target on the 2019 International events in the Canaries where he will be the only UK competitor for the PWA Junior World Cup
